today i worked a lot which sucked.
directly after i went to one of my friends’ house who were having other friends over for a pre-thanksgiving party.
it was really great.
i’m really fortunate to have made such good friends in this city.
i was talking to someone not too long ago saying how when you get older it gets harder to make friends.
thus, people tend to stick with the people that they’ve known for a while.
i feel that i am a socially dynamic person.
thus i have found the friends that i have.

but at the same time, i feel that the people you consider you friends in your life now are the friends that you’re going to have forever.
that makes me happy.

i forgot about this blog.
but when i used to care about my blogs i would look back a year to see what my life was like.
it’s weird how things are pretty much the same, but at the same time so much more accelerated and advanced.
it’s weird knowing i had just barely lived in this city a year ago.
it’s very nice knowing how comfortable i’ve become living here in such a brief period of time.
although at the same time, i really need to get out and do more stuff doing the day/week.
there’s so much of this amazing city i haven’t experienced yet.

maybe i’ll start updating this blog again.
but i use my twitter in the true “microblogging” sense.
i need a way to upload pictures to this blog and twitter simultaneously.

so let’s get back on that horse, take the road less traveled and get away from this town of claustrophobic creativity. let’s start afresh, leave the embers of this burnt out city to settle on the stunted seeds in which it has poured its misplaced trust.

let’s see from a different perspective the sun, the sky, the moon, the stars, the sea, sand, trees, clouds, train lines, road signs, motorways and slip roads, postcards, dreamy days, winters end and spring beginnings, window seats, cats eyes caught in corner glances,late night adventures, firesides and the dirt grey contrast of the high rise with lights calling us home; an orange glow snaking its path across green fields, towns and cities. drawing lines across maps to open up new sights, sounds, and the infinite possibility of the horizon.

i’m currently listening to my copy of the appleseed cast’s sagarmatha on vinyl on my audiophile headphones.

i saw them about a month ago.
they played this song.

i saw the appleseed cast about a month ago and was shooting the show and lost one of my friend’s lenses which totally sucked.
i just got back from california this week and am currently sorting through pictures of the trip.
i’m going to arizona in three weeks.

general: long hair, wearing button downs everyday, hating winter, dreaming of summer, taking things in entirely, slowing down and noticing everything.

basics: keeping warm, chicago, wild weekends, productive weeks, hanging out with friends.

work: my trip got pushed back to april which is kinda lame.
i’m trying to finish up my projects as fast as possible so i can take a vacation.

family: taking good care of them.
trying to be a really good big brother.
going snowboarding with my brother.

my parents call me pretty much every day, but about once a week the conversation shifts towards how proud they are of me and everything i’ve done.
it makes me feel really good.

social: lately i’m starting to see how much people’s priorities are out of whack.
i really love the life i lead.
i’m making great strides to improve myself in many areas.
i’m still young, but if i want to live the extravagant life that i have in my mind, i need to work harder.

lately nights have been starting later and lasting super late, but being super awesome.
i love living here.
i have really great friends, and i’m starting to get really comfortable in chicago.

romantic: i really feel like i am understanding girls a lot more lately.
more than anything, i’m learning how they work and how to make them work the way i want them to.

drink: beck’s premium light is spectacular.
as is fat tire mighty arrow.
and new glarus spotted cow.
and rumple minz + hot chocolate.
oh man.
other than that, went to the whistler a couple weeks ago and got some delicious drinks, probably best i’ve ever had.

book: i don’t really have time to read, i wish i did.
instead, when commuting i just listen to books on tape.
it’s definitely the best solution for me being short on time and still getting the material out of it.
current is eckhart tolle – the power of now.

music: i’ve been starting every day listening to side 2 of abbey road or side 1 of goddamnit on vinyl on the speakers above my shower.
it’s going pretty well.

the uk has a pretty good little indie scene going on, but some of it is really bad.
i saw a live/acoustic thrice/saves the day/get up kids/bayside show…. chris connely is a god.
i spend way too much money on records.

random: i really can’t wait til summer.

i must have looked like a ghost ’cause something frightened me
and since then i’ve been so good at vanishing.
